2.1. Ceylon Photography Awards (“CPA – 2021”) is open to all Sri Lankan citizens living in Sri Lanka and abroad irrespective of professional photographers, amateurs or enthusiasts.
2.2. There is no age limit to enter CPA-2021 in Section 01 to 04. School Section applicants should be under 18 years of age.
2.3. For participants under 18 years of age, the consent of the parents or guardian is required. The consenting guardian is then bound by the Terms and Conditions of the competition.
2.4. Entries submitted under the School Section should be certified by the Principal or Master in Charge of the respective school, as the works are of the applicant.
2.5. Employees, participating retailers and agents of Promoter or any company associated with the Promoter, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the competition.
2.1. Ceylon Photography Awards (“CPA – 2021”) is open to all Sri Lankan citizens living in Sri Lanka and abroad irrespective of professional photographers, amateurs or enthusiasts.

3.1. Entries will be accepted from 25th March 2021 to 5th May 2021. No entries will be accepted after 11:59pm 5th May 2021.
3.2. Entrants must follow the instructions below, In case of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the Ceylon Photography Awards instructions,
3.3. Entrants must choose the appropriate category for their images submitted. The same or similar images cannot be uploaded multiple times or entered into different categories. The entrants may enter maximum four (4) number of images in each category.
3.4. The categories are;
3.4.1. Open Colour
3.4.2. Open Monochrome
3.4.3. Nature & Wildlife
3.4.4. Theme – Lifestyle
3.4.5. School – Open
3.5. The entry fee for any two categories of the competition will be Rs. 2,000.00. The fee for each additional section will be Rs.500.00.
3.6. Each entry must comply with the Terms & Conditions including the Submission Guidelines specified below and specific rules under each category.
3.7. Entries must be submitted separately and each entry must individually meet the following Technical Specifications:
3.7.1. Images must be saved as ‘High Quality JPEG’ format.
3.7.2. Maximum image width (horizontal) is 1920 pixels, Maximum image height (vertical) is 1080 pixels.
3.7.3. File size must not exceed 2MB.
3.7.4. All image files should be in sRGB Colour Space. (see “8. What will be rejected” for disqualifications)
3.8. File name of each image file should be renamed as follows, before uploading.

3.9. Entry fees can be submitted via Stripe online payments or by crediting Bank account of EPOCH – The Ceylon Media Company PVT. Ltd. (No:1000387962 – Commercial Bank, Kalutara) and must be paid before the closing date.
3.10.Promoter is not responsible for any misdirected, late payments or incomprehensible entries in the competition.

4.6. The entrant is responsible for determining the appropriate permissions or model releases for their entries if required. However, CPA does not request model release forms with entries.
4.7. Images submitted with watermarks, branding, lettering etc. on them will not be submitted for judging and will be disqualified.
4.8. Images must not plagiarise the work of any other person or persons.
4.9. Entries that are found to breach these Terms and Conditions even after the results are announced, will be considered as invalid. In the event a prize has been awarded, that prize must be returned to the Promoter. The winners will be required to sign a statutory declaration regarding the originality of the entry.

5.1. The initial review of images, shortlisted for each category, will be completed by a panel of four internationally recognized judges with the CPA administration.
5.2. The second round of judging process will be decided by the Promoter’s committee / internationally acclaimed judging team through three criteria judging system.
The judging panel will consider the following point system when judging:
5.2.1. Technicality – 1-5 points
5.2.2. Originality – 1-5 points
5.2.3. Overall rating – 1-5 points
This creates a maximum of 15 points per judge for each image.
5.3. The top 30 highest scoring images from each category will be deliberated and discussed by the judging panel for the selection of Awards.
5.4. If any of the shortlisted images are found to be in breach of the above Terms and Conditions, they will be disqualified.
5.5. Each section will be comprised two Gold, two Silver and two Bronze medals and ten Merits’ from the patron renowned photography associations in Sri Lanka. In addition to the above, 100 acceptances will be selected for the virtual exhibition.
5.6. Except for the above prizes, based on the points achieved, winners for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be selected and the winners will be awarded with CPA Gold medal plus 50,000LKR prize, CPA Silver medal plus 30,000LKR prize and CPA Bronze medal plus 20,000LKR prize.
5.7. CPA 2021 medals point system is as follows
5.7.1. Gold medal – 5 points
5.7.2. Silver medal – 4 points
5.7.3. Bronze medal – 3 points
5.7.4. Merits – 2 points

5.8. There will be no correspondence between entrants and judges throughout this process.
5.9. The jury reserves the right not to nominate any of the prizes, certificates or awards for the relevant competition category if the works do not meet the required standards.
5.10. A result sheet will be emailed to the applicant after the selections are finalised.
5.11. Images selected under the School Section will be required authentication by the principal or a teacher in charge of the relevant school.
5.12. The company is responsible for all policy decisions regarding this competition.

Photographs of animals that are domesticated caged or under any form of restraint, as well as photographs of cultivated plants are ineligible. Minimal evidence of humans is acceptable for nature subjects, such as barn owls or storks, adapting to an environment modified by humans, or natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves, reclaiming it. The original image must have been taken by the photographer, whatever photographic medium is used. Any manipulation or modification to the original image is limited to minor retouching of blemishes and must not alter the content of the original scene. After satisfying the above requirements, every effort should be made to ensure the highest level of artistic skill in all nature photographs.
9.5. Theme – Lifestyles
The lifestyle of a particular person or group of people in the living conditions, behaviour, and habitats that are typical to them or are chosen by them. After 2020, our known world has walked right into a new era. People have to forget, change even some principal concepts to adopt the new situation. Photographs of this changed lifestyle will be the evidence for the future. mages submitted for this category cannot be edited. But cropping adjusting light intensity may be done without affecting its natural appearance. Images submitted for this category cannot be edited.
